Kitchener-Waterloo sometimes appears to be a newcomer on the world stage, but our history is long and legendary. We have been know as an powerhouse for such industries as: furniture making, textiles, electronics, auto parts, education and most recently – technology. Notable names like Walter Zeller, William Lyon Mackenzie King, Ross MacDonald, Lennox Lewis, Howie Meeker and of course Berlin, which was the original name of Kitchener are all part of our heritage.

Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge is the 10^th largest metropolitan area in Canada and the 5^th largest is Ontario. We are a vital part of the Innovation Corridor and Canada’s Technology Supercluster but we also remain the biggest small town I know. Our neighbourhoods are leafy and safe. And our city centres are modern and vibrant.
