The East Ward

East Ward

Kitchener’s charming East Ward neighbourhood

Within the boundaries of Krug Street to the north, the Expressway to the east, Weber and Ottawa Street to the west and south, lies an older and much loved neighbourhood of the East Ward.

With the move back to urban living, the East Ward has changed a lot in the past decade with lots of young (techie) families moving in. The homes in East Ward tend to be nearly 100 years old, though there are some 50s and 60s era bungalows on the eastern edge. The neighbourhood is charming. Although the lots are small, the homes have style and panache not found in newer suburbs around the city.

A central feature of the East Ward neigbourhood is the Kitchener Auditorium, the home of the Kitchner Rangers. But the neighbourhood is also an easy walk to the Kitchener Farmers Market and has easy access to the Conestoga Parkway
