Laurelwood Public SchoolLaurelwood Public School is located at 460 Brentcliff Drive in Waterloo.

The school opened in September 1998. It is one of over 100 elementary schools in the Waterloo Region District School Board. Laurelwood is a composite elementary school. It offers French Immersion.

There are approximately 800 students attending Laurelwood Public School from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. The school’s unique features include a double gym with scoreboard, a spacious Information Centre, networked computer labs, and a design and technology workshop.

The school also has an outdoor learning circle and Butterfly Garden created in partnership with the community. Laurelwood’s large school yard borders a wood lot and a neighbourhood park.

The school currently ranks as Waterloo’s second best school, third highest ranked school in Waterloo Region.

Neighborhood demographic information 

Laurelwood Neighborhood is made up predominately of well educated, married baby boomers aged 45-59 with children from elementary school to post secondary education ages. People of Chinese ethnicity make up 9% of the population. Business and finance executives, judges, public administrators and technical and health professionals earning over two times the national average (two times the city average) will be found in this neighborhood. Most households have four or five members and kids, career, home, leisure time and planning for retirement are all important things to the residents of Laurelwood. 65% of the residents are married.

The homes are larger than the city average. There is a higher than average percentage of single detached homes.

Last year there were 36 houses sold within 500 meters of Laurelwood Public School

The neighborhood sale price range was $250,000 to $713,000 with a average sales value of about $404,000 with a standard deviation of about $104,000.
