At the Uptown Waterloo Jazz concert on Saturday night, just before his first encore, Matt Dusk commented on the many people filing out, supposedly to beat the traffic. He said, “What’s the rush? There are only two traffic lights in all of Waterloo”. The audience laughed. He’s right. (Not about the lights). We are lucky to live in such a wonderfully small town, but with all the trappings of a big city.
It gets better. Today, I read that Kitchener-Waterloo is the cheapest city in Canada to park a car. Across the country, the median monthly rate for car parking is $224.10. In Kitchener-Waterloo it is only $116.94, nearly half!
For the record, Calgary is the most expensive at $453.38/month. Toronto is second most expensive at $336.25, and Montreal is third with $280.62.
