Survey says Canadians are among the happiest, South Koreans the unhappiest

photo bomber catA recent survey by Ipsos, a marketing research company found that Canadians were the second happiest nation in the world (following only the Dutch). The South Koreans were the least happy. (I don’t think the North Koreans were asked or if so, told the truth).

The survey found that the major factors to happiness included: good public transit, low crime rate, good job prospects, and clean streets. In countries where pollution was high, roads were bad and medical care poor, the level of happiness was low.

In rank order the countries stacked up by level of happiness are: Netherlands, Canada, Australia, India, Germany, USA at the top of the list and Russia, China, Japan, Hungary and South Korea at the bottom.
