Do you own a Maytag? Do you own a Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag, Crosley, Amana or Admiral brand dishwasher? Did you buy your dishwasher between February 2006 and April 2010? If so, you may have a fire hazard in your Kitchen.
Maytag Corp. is recalling 1.7 million North American dishwashers (160,000 units in Canada) because of problems with the units’ heating element. There have been twelve reports to the company of electrical failure in the elements that have resulted in electrical failure and dishwasher damage. In one case, the resulting fire spread through the kitchen.
If you have a new dishwasher, you might want to call the Maytag man.
