The Queen of England is coming for a little visit. This is her 22nd official tour to Canada and her fourth trip to Kitchener-Waterloo. And although, when I think of “God save the Queen”, I can’t help think of the Sex Pistols second line, “…she’s a fascist machine”, I’m happy that our Queen has chosen Waterloo as one of five cities to visit on this tour.
The others are:
Halifax
Ottawa
Winnipeg
And New York
I’m still often surprised what a world-class city Waterloo has become in such a short time. Our universities and our high tech industries have really put us on the world map. We shouldn’t be surprised that our regal overloads have come for another little look.
